Legal information

Peacock and Copland, bass and piano: a dream paring for inner visions and deeper musical perceptions. Two brothers in spirit, playing with deep-toned power and keyboard finesse, have made the perfect choice of classic standards to interpret. Two instruments carry out an intensive, sensitive musical dialogue with beautifully opalescent interwoven parts, creating a jazz atmosphere of enormous but quiet strength. An encounter filled with inner intensity and a clarity in which many secrets are hidden. The finest sort of jazz chamber music.

PRESS QUOTES
CD of the month: "Peacock and Copland, bass and piano: a dream paring for inner visions and deeper musical perceptions." (Arnaldo Desouteiro, Jazzstation.com)

"A clear window into the improvisational mindset, Insight is another high water mark for both of these fine, interpretive, and consistently inventive musicians." (John Kelman, All About Jazz)

"Copland has become one of the instrument's finest practitioners of delicate, studied lyricism and gorgeous and compelling abstraction (...) As on the entire set, there is a deeply exploratory and mystical atmosphere to the music (...) Peacock gives the extroverted melody a joyous bounce for a bright and lovely closing to a masterful and marvelous duo outing." (Dan McClenaghan, All About Jazz)

"Copland and Peacock take a very familiar jazz tune, already burned into our collective consciousness in definitive performances by the standard-bearers of the art form, and manage to stretch it into limber, new shapes." (Ted Gioia, jazz.com)

"Bassist Peacock is a bard of the duet medium, a stylist of close listening and restraint, jis sonic koans plucked with a halfdozen different degrees of intensity.Pianist Copland, with yet another sublime utilization of the Pirouet's label's acure acoustics, is a worthy partner, managing to evoke but not imitate the spirit of Bill Evans." (Britt Robson, Jazztimes)

"While Peacock has arguably reached his creative zenith with Jarrett and Towner, Copland demonstrates, with Insight, that he still has much to offer. This album should not only please fans of Jarrett and Peacock, but the finest of connoisseurs as well." (Martin Gladu, All Abot Jazz)

"INSIGHT is an excuisitely tender and sensitive piece of work. ..." (Peter Margasak, Downbeat)
